TEAM MANAGERS

  • Be strict when collecting payments from players because over the years teams have folded and were expelled from the league due to financial problems. Players who don't pay you their fair share should immediately be suspended from your team.

  • We strongly advise issuing each of your players with the Player Registration link to create awareness about responsibility.

  • Start collecting fees from players a few weeks before a league begins to ensure full payments can be made. We suggest a minimum of €20 in advance to cover entry fee and first match fee and then continue collecting €10 each match night, starting on match night 1.

  • Maintain the squad list by having players fully registered at all times.

  • Have full set of numbered team jerseys for each match and be careful to avoid clash of colours

  • Bring a minimum of 2 match condition footballs each match night.

  • Write player name with matching jersey number on team sheet

  • Always ensure the match fee paid in full BEFORE kick off.

GENERAL

  • All team managers and players should be aware of official WFS Rules and Regulations and Code of Conduct, before taking part.

  • The main game rules can be summarised very briefly as follows: No slide tackling, No shoulder charge. No aggressive play, Offside is dependent on the league, Rolling subs.

  • Check jersey colours of other teams to avoid clashes, especially if you are buying a new set.

  • Team managers should strongly consider the commitment required from players. Players will be missing regularly due to work and family responsibilities, commitments to other teams and sports, plus absences for injuries, holidays, sport on TV etc,

  • Matches will not be postponed because of unavailable players so please ensure your squad is large enough to cover missing players to avoid fines and other sanctions.

  • Junior League Premier players and League of Ireland players are excluded from some leagues to maintain a fair standard for the majority of participants.

  • Most seasons run for approximately 12 weeks.

  • Having a team sponsor is a great way to boost team finances and the free website ad is very useful in acquiring that. Sponsors can also use their business name as the team name.
