The Floodlit Soccer League was formed in August 2002 following the collapse of Nightowls International League PLC. Although the loss of Nightowls was a major shock at the time, Floodlit Soccer quickly filled the void and has steadily grown in size and popularity.

The success of Floodlit Soccer can be attributed to many factors but its simplicity is at the heart of it. Anyone can join or enter a team with no need for committees, grounds or other complications.

Floodlit Soccer is unique in the fact that is self regulated and doesnt have an affiliation to FIFA or any other governing body. This means Floodlit Soccer is free to adjust rules and regulations to suit its needs such as offside, sin bin and substitutes. Our league is different in one other major aspect too as all our matches are played on astro turf pitches under floodlights.

Originally set up for retired and elder players it has since developed to cater for all ages, grades and abilities. Matches are played each night, Monday to Friday, which is a huge attraction as it means players are free every weekend. Another bonus is having a full fixture list before the season begins which allows players the freedom to forward plan.
